Porta Maqueda occupies the first piano nobile of a 19th-century building at the corner of Via Maqueda and Via Cavour. Not a chain, not an anonymous hotel: five rooms with four-metre ceilings, balconies overlooking the Teatro Massimo, and the quality of materials found only in historic buildings that have been cared for over time.

We are literally opposite the main entrance of the Teatro Massimo, at the corner of Via Maqueda and Via Camillo Benso Conte di Cavour. The building has been recently renovated: original materials restored, all systems completely replaced, double-glazed windows to block heat and street noise without losing any of the Sicilian light.
The lift, installed in a modern era, stops between the first and second floors. On exiting the cabin, about 13 steps lead down to the floor where the rooms are. The property is outside the ZTL restricted zone: no restrictions for guests arriving by car.

Welcome, breakfast, housekeeping and maintenance are handled by a team of people who work closely with the property. Our goal is for every stay to run smoothly and with the highest level of comfort.
Check-in takes place between 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Please let us know your expected arrival time in advance so we can organise your welcome. For arrivals after 8:00 pm, self check-in can be arranged.
We are available by WhatsApp and phone every day from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.
